Show Notes:

I love providing my listeners with practical strategies, tools, and tips that support you with your classroom management and dealing with certain student behaviors. And while I believe those are important aspects of an effective and successful school year, some of my favorite topics to discuss and share with you all include those that benefit your teacher mindset. I truly believe that’s the heart of what it means to be a happier, more fulfilled, calmer teacher.

With the rise in pressure that teachers face, it’s no wonder teacher anxiety is at an all-time high and a constant hurdle teachers deal with on a daily basis. Therefore, I want to give you what you need to calm your stress and anxiety in order to feel and experience peace. In today’s episode, I’m sharing techniques and strategies that you can use to set the foundation for calm and healthy ways to manage your teacher anxiety. Think of these as your anti-anxiety toolbox for elementary teachers, all of which I have researched and practiced myself that I believe have positively impacted my thinking and way of life.

We often don’t think about how classroom management is connected to our mindset and thoughts, which ultimately impacts the way we run our classrooms and lives. By learning to manage our thoughts and how they translate to the classroom, we’re able to deal with challenging experiences and tasks throughout the day. That’s what each of the strategies and techniques I share do. They require you to be reflective and cognizant of the types of thoughts you’re having and start building positive, new habits instead and be able to calm your teacher anxiety, along with your students.

The type of anxiety and symptoms you experience are unique to you, but what’s universal is the need to manage your teacher anxiety in order to better manage your classroom and yourself. Having been in stressful situations myself, I’ve been able to have a better outlook and more positive thoughts. So, if you’re looking for a different way to manage your classroom while also benefiting your mindset, add these strategies and techniques to your teacher toolbox for your teacher anxiety.

Inside this week's show, you'll learn:

  • Techniques and strategies to help manage your teacher anxiety and that also help with any stress your students are feeling
  • How we define anxiety and the various symptoms that can be associated with anxiety
  • Ways teacher anxiety and mindset are directly correlated with your classroom management and impact the way we run our classroom and personal lives
  • The time it takes to learn to shift the way you think about yourself and the negative thoughts you have to positive ones, which will ultimately transform your thoughts and experiences
